If you can't be extra at Christmas, when can you? Cocktails are the way to go; with so many options available, there's something for every taste. Wow your guests with pretty glasses, plenty of colour - and maybe even a twist of lemon (depending on how good your knife skills are).

Aldi has expanded their spirits range in time for Christmas with some delicious new seasonal favourites. Choose from gin, rum, vodka or whisky to treat your family and friends to an after-dinner tipple!

Candy Cane Swirl

Candy Cane Swirl

Ingredients:

- 30ml The Infusionist Candy Cane Gin Liqueur

-20ml Oliver Cromwell London Dry Gin

-20ml whole milk

-20ml double cream

-1 teaspoon of icing sugar

-The white of one medium free-range egg

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients to a shaker with cubed ice
  2. Shake until the outside of the cocktail shaker turns cold
  3. Strain into champagne flute to serve

Ingredients:

- 50ml The Infusionist Caramel and Hazelnut Rum Liqueur

-25ml semi-skimmed milk

-25ml double cream

-2 sprays/drops of Aldi's Moroccan Almond Extract

- Moser Roth Luxury Dark Chocolate

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients to a shaker with cubed ice
  2. Shake until the outside of the cocktail shaker turns cold
  3. Strain into a chilled coupette (or martini glass)
  4. Garnish with grated Aldi’s Moser Roth Luxury Dark Chocolate shavings
Naughty or Spice

Naughty or Spice

Ingredients:

-50ml The Infusionist Pear, Cranberry & Cinnamon Vodka Liqueur

-50ml apple juice

-Top with ginger beer

-Squeeze of lime

Method:

  1. Shake vodka liqueur, apple juice and lime juice
  2. Fill a tall glass with cubed ice and add the shaken mixture
  3. Top with ginger beer
  4. Garnish with fresh wedge of lime and grated nutmeg to serve

Gunpowder Crackle

Ingredients:

-50ml Glen Marnoch Single Malt Islay Scotch Whisky

-10ml Gunpowder Whisky Liqueur

-10ml lemon juice

-20ml cloudy apple juice

-1 teaspoon of Aldi's Specially Selected Sweet Rhubard and Ginder Preserve or stem ginger in sugar syrup

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients to a shaker with cubed ice
  2. Shake until the outside of the cocktail shaker turns cold
  3. Strain over fresh cubed ice into a short glass
  4. Garnish with a twist of orange peel and a slice of fresh apple to serve

Gingel Bells

Ingredients:

-50ml Oliver Cromwell London Dry Gin

-25ml lemon juice

-2 teaspoons of sugar

-15ml The Infusionist Pear, Cranberry & Cinnamon Vodka Liqueur

Method:

  1. Add gin, lemon juice and sugar to a shaker with cubed ice
  2. Shake until the outside of the cocktail shaker turns cold
  3. Strain over fresh crushed ice in a rocks glass and drizzle with The Infusionist Pear, Cranberry & Cinnamon Vodka Liqueur
  4. Sprinkle with cinnamon and garnish with a lemon twist to serve
