Why you should invest

A cream blusher can be like a great romance – wonderful yet fleeting. You apply it first thing in the morning and your heart skips a beat at the heavenly flush it brings to your cheeks. Yet, come the afternoon it tends to disappear – leaving you with, perhaps not a broken heart, but a dull, drab complexion nonetheless.

is one of those wonderful make-up brands that boasts a jaw-dropping colour pigment that stays true – their cream blusher is no exception. The bright pop of pink of their Conviction shade dabbed on the apples of the cheeks will give you a show-stopping pop of colour that will last until sundown. At the same time, it’s got a bit of an 80s vibe, so that you half expect Whitney Houston to start playing once you lift the lid. Forget the commitment-phobe cream blushers of old – this one’s a keeper.

How to use

With fingers or a synthetic stippling brush, work a small amount of colour into the apples of the cheeks for a natural look. (If you smile in the mirror, you should be able to see them - these are the plumpest parts of your face.) Otherwise if you want to go full-on Whitney, work the colour up, past the cheekbones into the hollow of the temples.

Top tip

Round faces should apply blusher in a downward slanting shape to add definition to the face. If you have a strong jawline, your best bet is to apply blusher in a circular shape at the top of your cheeks. And to add width to a narrow face shape, apply horizontally across the centre of the cheeks, blending well.
