This week via The New York Times Style Magazine, it was announced Rihanna's Fenty brand – which has already made an indelible mark in the beauty world – has created a partnership with the luxury line LVMH to launch a clothing collection. In celebration of the historic move that makes Rihanna the first black woman to head a fashion house, we pay homage to the singer's magpie eye for quirky, offbeat, trendsetting outfits by looking back at her best fashion moments.

A lot of headlines read, Rihanna may be the only one who could pull off this Saint Laurent IRL, and the truth of the matter is, they’re right. Many tried to follow suit (we won’t name names) *Cara Delevingne, KendallJenner* but it just didn’t get the heart racing like how the Riri wore it.

There’s been a number of years Rihanna’s stolen the Met Gala spotlight, for all the right reasons, of course. So, it was hard to choose one look to make it on to our eccentric list. But after much deliberation, theChines Couture dress by Guo Pei made the edit. Why? Not only was the train insane and inspired Cardi B’s 2019 Met Gala outfit, the memes that followed were too funny to forget.

Rihanna’s most recent, and may we add quirky, editorial shoot comes from her interview with The New York Times Style Magazine. She stated ‘You wear what looks good on you and that’s it.’ Noted!

British Vogue 2018 September issue featured the Bajan singer on its front cover. With all the designer fandangle the talking point was the micro thin brows. As we know, Rihanna is not afraid to push the boundaries in hair, beauty and fashion.

Speaking of brows, who can forget this eyebrow raising promo for her album ANTI! Veering down the androgynous route, it was a side we hadn’t seen from the singer, but we certainly weren’t anti it either.

In our humble opinion this isn’t eccentric but it made the list because we love the fact Riri hasn’t forgotten her roots by annually visiting the Crop Over Carnival in her hometown Barbados. She single-handily put Carnival couture and culture on the worldwide stage. And that’s what we call a bold move.

It’s not every day thigh high boots and designer co-ords for the international star. Rihanna makes a regular appearance in oversized coats. The rule of thumb is anything goes as we’ve seen the starlet pair her XXL outerwear with club outfits, heels or in this case comfy sliders. This coat reminds us of Missy Elliott’s iconic blow up puffy suit in her debut single ‘I can’t stand the rain’

When Rihanna wore this Gucci bejewelled catsuit and mask in2017 to Coachella it got everyone talking. Even if you’re not a fan of this look, you have to admire her nonchalant confidence in this picture that she posted on Instagram with the caption, ‘I can’t go home yet, cuz people ain’t seen my outfit.’

This photoshoot for Paper magazine is a testament to Rihanna’s fashion prowess. Spiky green hair and man-repelling outfits is a brief many artists would say no to but not this popstar. She definitely made it werk, werk, werk, werk, werk

Body confidence is an area Rihanna has excelled in. And with the world watching her every move she certainly gave everyone an eyeful at the2014 CFDA. The head to toe sheer sequined dress exuded sexiness, empowerment and zero f**ks given.
