Since Fenty Beauty burst on to the scene with 50 foundations, let's face it, there's been a slew of make-up brands releasing a boatload of foundation shades - too many to count. But that's not a grumble. As consumers, we live in a time where there's more choice than ever before. This certainly wasn't the case for the global make-up artist McGrath who has been open about her childhood experiences of failing to find colours that matched her skin tone.

The living legend Pat McGrath

What sets Pat McGrath apart is her devotion to seeking out perfection. After 25 years of research (a good foundation isn't made overnight people), with six of those dedicated to product development, we're finally blessed with a foundation collection McGrath is proud to put her name to.

Skin Fetish Sublime Perfection

Coming from an era where filters were non-existent, McGrath has curated a customisable system. 'Unlocking the secrets to sublime perfection is as simple as 1, 2, 3. Prime. Perfect. Set. What could be easier?' says McGrath

The first step in McGrath’s iconic system primes, smoothes, hydrates and renews. The primer is infused with hydrating hyaluronic acid and a luxe, water-based formulation that achieves a velvety matte finish. The second step in the system is the application of the foundation which can be applied with your fingertips. Expect medium coverage that kindly masks imperfections without heavily saturating the skin. Made with a oil-free vita-serum complex to hydrate and nurture, the result is a dewy radiance that one can only describes 'looks expensive'. Finally, there's the ultra soft setting powder available in five shades that are calibrated to work with all 36 shades. There's also the Sublime Perfection Foundation Brush and Powder Brush that can be purchased to complete the full set.

With a price point of £48 upwards, this is certainly an investment collection. Pat McGrath has worked with a plethora of high-end brands throughout her career and has plied all her expertise into formulating a range that is nothing short of perfection!

Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection will be on sale 26th July at patmcgrath.com and select selfridges stores.
