MAC provides make-up for Michael Halpern's SS21 film starring frontline workers
Make-up lovers' favourite MAC Cosmetics graces the faces of this year's heroines in Halpern's positive video campaign
Native New Yorker and now honorary Brit Michael Halpern is celebrating frontline workers in his SS21 campaign, which has been shown support by make-up brand MAC Cosmetics. The film campaign shows everyday heroines in the public sector, ranging from a bus station controller to an NHS OBGYN, dressed in Halpern's designs and discussing their experiences during the harrowing events of the pandemic.
Halpern said, “This season was a really special one for me to work with M·A·C. After everything the world has been through in 2020, having some sense of normality when it comes to working with my little fashion family is something I am very grateful for. Highlighting all of the amazing stories from the frontline workers and being able to tell their stories through the film we did, but also through the visuals from the project is something I will forever cherish."
"When it came to the make-up for this project we really needed the women to look like themselves and be comfortable and feel incredible in their own skin; and of course M·A·C and Terry [Barber] knew exactly how to achieve this with ease and glamour.”
MAC Director of Make-up Artistry, Terry Barber lead the make-up team, and created a bespoke, monochromatic nude look for each model. He said, “The make-up was about finding the balance between feeling glamorous but at the same time effortless, with skin perfected with Studio Fix Fluid Foundation and iconic MAC neutral tones throughout the face for a chic monochrome on eyes, cheeks and lips. Speaking to each model before the make-up it became clear that they wanted to look like themselves, just more glam!
