Four quick tips to staying cool this weekend
With this weekend set to have glorious sunshine, here are four tips from celebrity stylist 5ive to keep a cool head
Summer is officially here and whilst a bit of sun can bring a host of benefits to our bodies, too much can also wreak havoc on your tresses. ‘Summer can be a perilous time for the hair’ explains celebrity stylist 5ive from Hype Coiffure, Battersea. He warns us that the sun can ‘frizz, frazzle and burn’ strands and ‘when combined wind, heat, salt or chlorine, the results can be disastrous.’
With this weekend set to have glorious sunshine, here are four tips to keep a cool head.
* Apply sun protection at regular intervals during the day and remember to also cover exposed areas of your scalp as these can burn too - just like any other part of the skin.
* If you plan to take a dip in the pool or sea be sure to wet the hair with regular tap water or apply a conditioner to your tresses first to prevent absorbing any chlorine or salt.
* Tying the hair up will also limit the amount exposed to the water.
* After your swim rinse the hair thoroughly and apply a conditioner as necessary.
